Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and NO sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.
Practice and train major lifts: deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstands, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast.
Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. ROUTINE IS THE ENEMY. Keep workouts short and intense.
Regularly learn and play new sports!
Founded by Coach Greg Glassman in the late 1990s in Santa Cruz, California, CrossFit has spread like wildfire across the fitness world. It has become the principal strength and conditioning program for military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. The needs of Olympic athletes and the elderly differ by degree not kind.
CrossFit is called “The Sport of Fitness” because it re-introduces personal athletic achievement and performance to training. Most of our workouts are timed. The faster you can do them the fitter you are becoming. It is that simple. The mindset at the start of each workout is to be stronger, move faster, more efficiently, with better form. Even after years of training CrossFit, scores and times in workouts continue to drop and athletes continue to improve. It′s hard, fun, exciting, challenging, and will push you to be your absolute best!
CrossFit workouts elicit a maximal neuro-endocrine response from your body by taxing you to the very core with variety, intensity, and multiple joint, full body, functional movements. You will never see the same workout for at least six weeks. That means you will never get bored and most importantly it does not give your body the chance to plateau. Our workouts last anywhere from 5-20 minutes and will punish even the fittest people on the planet. Done 3-5 times a week they get you into the best shape of your life.
We have many people say that before they try CrossFit they need to get in shape first. This is absolute rubbish! No matter the shape you′re in you will be challenged. In fact many of our athletes have found that the more fit you become the tougher the workouts are. The reason behind this is simple. As a novice you are unsure of your limits. So the tendency is to stop short of full exhaustion. As you get faster and therefore fitter in the workouts you push that preconceived limit further and further until you are very near your actual tipping point. This is called building intensity. And it is also where the “magic” of CrossFit training lies. We won′t sugar coat anything. These workouts are designed to be extremely demanding! Fitness with us is earned. But we supply everything. All you need to do is show up and give it you all for that day
